The documentary film, Tattoo, tells about teenage students who had tattoos performed on them during their art lessons at upper comprehensive school. This happened in the small Finnish town of Forssa in 1995. One of the students who had received a tattoo at age of 13, director Kati Kanerva, goes in search of her fellow school pupils. Growing up has not been easy and a great deal has happened in the past 15 years, drug addiction, prison sentences and depression. Now, at round about thirty years of age, life has begun to look brighter. In some miraculous way, the tattoos that were taken at the school have even been some type of omen of the future.
